Full description
This wood bowl has been made from locally grown Holly Oak wood also known as Holm Oak.
The bowl was turned whilst green and allowed to dry very slowly which has resulted in it taking on a slightly symmetrical oval shape. Its grain is beautiful and shows a super arrangement of medullary rays. The darkened area of the wood has occurred naturally during the tree's growth.
After turning the bowl has been sanded smooth after which multiple treatments of finishing oil have been applied. To finish the bowl has then been buffed with natural carnauba wax to bring it to a soft sheen.
