I love owls! I painted an owl which I entitled "Midnight" using oils, I was then inspired to explore collagraph printmaking using imagery from my paintings. When making a collagraph plate for printing the plate itself can often be a work of art. They are made up using shallow relief collage materials. I created my Midnight collagraph plate using various papers and wet carving into thick card for some of the feathery detail. I then used acrylic paints to "ink" up my plate for printing.
