The ancient skill of 'lippi work', coiling straw to create a 'Bee-Skep' (traditional Bee-hive) dates back to Medieval times. The 'skep's were used to catch swarms and house bees.
The craft has been handed down to me from my father and is now a family legacy. The 'Skeps' can be either ornamental or practical. With or without holes for bees to travel in and out of.
Different styles and sizes of skeps available please ask for details. Contemporary and traditional 'lippi' work baskets are available also, please ask for details
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
