Get set for summer with this amazing light pastel blue and white coloured silk, wool and bamboo scarf. An amazing cobweb felt scarf that has been nuno felted onto a silk chiffon base.
Two felting techniques have been combined to create this scarf. Very fine, sheer layers of a blend of blue and white merino wool blended with blue bamboo fibres have be laid down to create a cobweb felt layer on one side of a blue silk chiffon scarf and this has then been nuno felted to allow the wool fibres to migrate through the silk and bind with it. This produces a scarf with the sheer, transparent nature of cobweb felt with the added strength of the silk chiffon layer. Shrinkage of the wool fibres during the felting process results in an attractive crinkled effect to the silk which is visible on the non felted side. The base scarf has a colour gradient along its length from dark to light blue and back again.
The scarf measures approximately 130cm (51") x 40cm (16")
A gorgeous addition to any outfit, suitable for smart or casual wear. Being made from natural materials (wool, bamboo and silk) this scarf is warm in winter yet cool in summer.
