Gotland Single "Granite"

100% Gotland wool, single (unplied).

Amount: not less than 387 yards (265g) over 2 skeins. Knits to approx 4-ply weight. Cool wash by hand only unless you intend to felt (which this yarn will do very easily!). Don't like getting tangles in skeins? All yarn can be wound into neat balls before dispatch - just let me know when you place your order.

As is often the case, monitor and digital colours vary. This yarn is dark grey/graphite colour overall with paler highlights.

Hand-carded, handspun, this yarn is from a small flock that lives on the northern fringe of Dartmoor in Devon. Gotland sheep originate from the Swedish island that bears the same name, and were developed from the local Gute breed with a small influence from other breeds. Since the 1920s, the breed has been developed to give a multi-purpose animal, with good meat but more importantly long wool fibres in shades of black through grey to silver.
