Full description
A beautiful warm and soft woollen felted patchwork quilt in monochrome tones.
This quilt has been made from black, white and grey hand felted squares stitched together, lightly padded with polyester wadding and backed with black cotton fabric. It has then been quilted along the patchwork seams. The felt squares have been made using natural grey Jacob wool and black and white NZ perendale wool, (the black wool has been dyed, the white is natural), nuno felted onto cotton muslin to give added strength and stability. The nuno felting technique allows the wool fibres to migrate through the cotton fabric and bond with it.
Measuring approximately 90cm x 90cm (36" x 36") this would make a lovely knee or lap blanket, suitable for both male and female. Alternatively it makes a lovely throw or could be used as a picnic/garden blanket. The wool has natural dirt and water repellent properties but if need be it can be washed by hand in warm water and allowed to dry naturally. Press using iron on wool setting.
