This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A bee, must be a queen by its size (12cm long and 11cm wide).
All of the glass is iridescent so it is super shiny. The wings are textured iridescent and I've superimposed the lower wings to give a bit of a 3-dimensional effect.
The big yellow head is a glass nugget I fused in my kiln as I didn't have a ready made nugget in a bright enough shade of yellow.
The bee hangs from a strong nylon thread so it looks as if it's flying when hanging in the window.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
The 5th photo is of the other Bee I design I have for sale here on Folksy which I call "Bee Happy".
