What does Upcycle mean to us?
Wikipedia defines upcycle as: “The process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value”.
MMM believes also beautiful and useful should be added to this definition.
Often, the pieces we use have marks or other signs of use. This does not detract from the resulting art work, rather enhances it’s beauty. Please be assured that each piece is robust and fit for purpose!
MMM uses recycled items either as a substrate (base) or tesserae. Often porcelain or other crockery material is used to decorate items such as plates, bowls and cups. Mirror, glass and window frames are also re-purposed - in fact often only the stained glass we use is “new”. Even the ceramic tiles sometimes used as a base are recycled from building sites.
In our process we are able to integrate your own mementos into the finished work which can make the piece even more precious for you.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
An original abstract alcohol ink drawing of my interpretation of a deep sea scape. Drawn on a ceramic tile, the shades of pastel blue, green and pink elicit a calming effect while giving the eye a lovely treat.
The tile is 150 x 150cm (6 x6") and has been painted with alcohol inks. This medium produces a pleasing but unpredictable result. I think this would be a perfect in either a bathroom or bedroom.
Display on a table top supported by an easel or plate display or framed and hung on the wall. This original art is signed and dated.
Available mounted in a 15cm x 15cm (6x6”) beech wood shadow box frame at an additional cost of £6. Please purchase desired frame listing if you wish this add on. Please note that the frame is not available as a stand alone purchase.
Please note that our tiles are sealed and then varnished with an archive quality product. However, they should be handled with care and should not be exposed to either water or anything containing alcohol and avoid sharp items as they can scratch.
