This listing is for a print, but here is a description of how I produced the original Drypoint: Using my own photographs as a starting point along with drawings from my sketchbook, I 'draw' by scratching into a metal plate, ink is then applied which settles into the scratched line, the excess ink is wiped from the plate leaving only the ink filled drawing. Next, I produce watercolour washes of colour, these are used in a collage technique called ‘Chine- Colle’, a painstaking process whereby the hand painted sheets of paper are cut up into various shapes and sizes to create a patchwork of rooftops and chimney pots.
