This silver plated hair grip / bobby pin measures approximately 5.5cm long including the decal.

Made using a 1952 edition of Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen.

These hair adornments are lightweight due to the use of a resin decal covering rather than glass which helps stop them sliding down in fine hair.

I first made a hair pin like this for myself with a tiny rectangle of text reading ACT ONE from a Shakespeare play. After many compliments I began to experiment with cutting tiny images from books and similar visual options but still people would ask about the text pin I wore myself. Often I would be asked about favourite books and characters so I developed this larger circular design to show a little more of the book page and incorporate some favourite literary characters.
