I have used the Celtic knot for inspiration for the marquetry design on the lid. This translates well in sharply contrasting veneers of gold and black to striking effect.

Full description
The box shape and the Celtic marquetry design are in perfect harmony on this unique hand made item.
The marquetry is made from traditional hand-cut stained veneers on a base of oak. The box is also oak made from recycled kitchen doors!
The lid is hinged with good quality solid brass hinges housed into the base. A soft felt tab ensure the lid closes softly and quietly. Red baize lines the inside to protect the contents and felt tabs underneath protects any polished surfaces it sits on.
Multiple coats of hard-wearing polyurethane varnish have been finished with a wax coating to produce a smooth semi-matt surface.
