Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It is a Noah's Ark complete with animals.
There is a zebra, a giraffe and an elephant.
The hull of the ark is in sea colours of blue streaked with green. I;ve not used this glass before but think it's really effective as it's very streaky and looks rather like waves.
The cabin is made from iridescent raindrop glass (for obvious reasons !) and the roof is heavily textured amber and brown (to give the effect of wood).
There are two little 'lamps' made from crystal glass beads hanging from the roof. I have 'tiled' the top of the roof by adding a piece of twisted wire,
The Noah's Ark is 12cm long and 9cm high. It hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely soldered to the roof of the ark.
I've used scalloped foil round the hull of the boat to give the effect of waves.
It looks super hanging in the window where it catches the light and would make a lovely and very unique present.
Please note though this is made of glass and is not a toy.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece even when making the same pattern.
The 5th photo is of the Ark I sold previously so you can see that though to the same pattern each is unique.
