CUBAN COLLECTION 1

Simply packaged in a plain cellophane packet your handy pocket-sized (A6) notebook has been stampified into something utterly unique. No-one else will ever own a notebook quite like this one! Use for all your first class ideas, travel notes, urgent to-do lists, or for keeping track of your penpal's addresses.

The front cover is entirely covered with used postage stamps, then coated with a matt sealant for extra durability. The stamps still bear fragments of postmarks and cancellations as a testament to their former service for worldwide postal services (see right), providing a real sense of history.

The back cover is left blank, except for a hand-stamped TangleMail maker's mark which will be numbered & signed. This notebook will be numbered 1 as it is the first in my new Cuban Collection (different notebook reverse shown in pic). There is also an insert (pic 4) providing some background info about my collages - great for gift-giving!

Customised notebook with sturdy kraft cardstock cover, secure stitched binding, and grey binding tape covering the outer spine. Inside: 30 feint ruled pages (60 sides to write on). Approx. 10.5 x 14.8 cm - a tiny bit larger than a Moleskine small cahier - ideal for tucking into a pocket or throwing into a bag/purse for notes-on-the-go.

The Cuban Collection of collaged notebooks has grown from my fascination with postage stamps, and the secret histories they carry with them. I inadvertently discovered that I am not able to sell notebooks featuring Cuban stamps through a different craft marketplace, (which is US-based) due to sanctions between USA & Cuba.

In fact, Cuban stamps aren't that common, anyway, so I decided that when I did come across one, I would include it in a collage that would be sold exclusively on Folksy, thus precipitating a new series.

As well as a single Cuban stamp, the OOAK cover collage of this notebook also includes postage stamps from: Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Germany, Hungary, India, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Southern Rhodesia, Sweden, and the United States.
