This agate slice with its contrasting colours needed a strongly coloured setting, and once again agate proves its versatility.

This lovely asymmetrical slice of agate has an unusual, vibrant combination of colours.
I've taken the colours and picked them out with matt glass 4mm and 6mm beads. At the front of the necklace sits the pendant drawing the colours into one. It is safely held in an antique bronze effect bail, echoed in its secure lobster-claw clasp. The whole necklace measures 48cm, with the pendant adding another 5.5cm.
I've tried to show the mixture of translucent and opaque crystal in the agate. The toning glass beads also allow the light to pass through to give colourful shadows.
All the components used are hypoallergenic.

A very different angle on the ordinary agate, from its asymmetry to the combination of colours. Yum!
