Full description
This is a tiny and loving crafted artwork celebrating the feeling of home. Housed in a really sweet rustic walnut tin, a handbuilt ceramic house sits in a mossy meadow against a backdrop of lacy blue.
I have individually handmade each part of the scene and assembled the tin in layers to give it a feeling of depth and texture.It has a blend of text from old books, vintage lace, and layers added and then removed to give a unique mixed media finish. This tin holds a secret inscrition of the word home in the top left hand corner.
The lid is also decorated internally with pieces of lace and fragments of patterned papers. .
This piece meaures approx 6m wide, 6cm tall and 2.5cm deep (it is 12 cm tall when opened out).
This piece stands up without support and would sit beautifully on a mantel or window ledge, ready to brighten up your day. A perfect piece to celebrate a new home, or to take the feeling of home with you wherever you go.
