This is a beautifully set pendant and necklace which could easily be separated and worn individually.
The pendant has two matched pieces of mahogany obsidian, which you probably know owes its formation to volcanoes. These pieces show the woodgrain effect really well. They are set in heavy 925 silver and are on an ornate 925 silver bail. The pendant measures 5cm.
I've chosen to string it on a necklace made of Tibet silver flower and cylinder beads,spaced with mahogany obsidian and green cats eye glass beads. The total length is 57 cm,and it closes with a 925 silver lobster claw clasp.
This is an understated and elegant piece of jewellery and is of a very satisfying weight because of the amount of real silver in it. The green cats eye beads add a welcome lightness to its appearance. The obsidian deserves a close look - the colours and shapes in it are completely unique.
