This listing is for large mohair Terrier on vintage Meccano wheels. MADE TO ORDER - please allow up to 7 days for me to make a Toby dog especially for you.
We have been reading Treasure Island in the Nursery at bedtimes.
'GRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr!'
Toby is demonstrating to Scruffy dog what a splendid Pirate dog he would be.
Unfortunately we don't live near the sea.
And we don't know any pirates.
Still, there's always lots of treasure to discover in the garden that Scruffy dog has buried over the years (and promptly forgotten about).
Toby is made from a beautiful antique gold mohair and is stuffed in a more traditional way, using a mixture of wood wool and toy stuffing. The underside of his ears and feet have been gently dyed and sanded to add to his vintage appearance.
He has traditional amber glass eyes and is finished with a little spotty neckerchief, which has been dyed to give it an aged appearance. He stands about 11.5” / 29cm tall on his old Meccano wheels, and measures about 12.5” / 32cm from his little black nose to his tail. His ‘pull-along’ rope has a big old rusty bell attached.
He is one of my own designs and was stitched on my old 1920’s Singer treadle sewing machine.
