I've been thinking of a leaf design for a while so was delighted when a customer asked me for a Maple Leaf.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A Maple Leaf, a brand new design for a commission. I liked what I had made so much I made another - this one.
Bright red and cut from 6 different types and textures of red glass with a few hints of amber. The different textures give plenty of movement and some iridescent pieces
give added shine.
The surround is cut from gluechip clear glass which gives a frost effect and the outer border to the square is a clear gently textured glass.
I am really pleased with this new suncatcher. It looks lovely hanging in the window with the sun casting the vibrant reds which change with the light.
This is 5.5" square and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher. I've framed it with twisted wire for strength and neatness.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure it is unique.
The 5th photo shows the previous and only other version I've made of this design so you can see they are different though to the same pattern.
