A unique entirely handcrafted stained glass picture which I designed and made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I originally designed a Tree of Life as something artistic and challenging, a tree which has its roots firmly in the ground and its colourful branches filling the sky.
This Rowan tree is an adaptation of my original design replacing the multi-coloured leaves with bright green and adding 24 bright red rowan berries (which I fused in my kiln).
I have framed it with a very lightly textured clear glass border and a twisted wire edging. It is 6 inches square and hangs from a silvery chain.
This looks absolutely stunning hanging in the light of a window.
it is as much a picture as a suncatcher and is equally effective hanging on a wall.
It is absolutely unique. I never make two things exactly the same; I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass. This piece comprises multiple separate pieces of glass and 24 nuggets each individually cut, ground, foiled and soldered.
I have included 4 pictures to show it in different lights as the colours change according to how the light catches it. The 5th photo shows the original multi-coloured leaf design.
