This is a perfectly magical piece of miniature art. A tiny whimsical world held inside a vintage tin. A handmade pixie cottage nestles into the ground made from real moss. A tiny bluebird sits on a mushroom, keeping watch over this teeny scene.

The piece can be displayed standing on the lid and needs no support to remain open. Perfect as a miniature work of art for your mantel piece, desk or dresser. The tin measures approx 6.5cm high 8.5cm wide and 2cm deep.

The pixie house, mushroom and tiny bluebird are all handmade individually, fired and glazed. I treat the inside of the tin with layers of hidden text under paint.

This piece is full of whimsy and magic, I would love for it to find a special nook to live in.

Houses and cottages feature in my ceramic work and one day I doodled into my sketchbook an imagined series of tiny worlds, encased in antique tins.

I set about scaling down my ceramic design to fit carefully sourced vintage tins.

This piece is inspired by my favourite childhood book, the Magic Faraway Tree. In the story (by Enid Blyton) pixies live in tiny houses, hidden in the woods. This is my imagining of a tiny pixie cottage set inside its own world.
