Heraldic Artist and Calligrapher in Glasgow.
I design and handpaint paint single or double initial letters in colour (or in 23c gold leaf or Palladium leaf for silver) for handmade Birthday or Wedding Anniversary gifts.
As well as handpainted letters, I also have fantasy animal cards, calligraphy placemats and a selection of calligraphy giclée art prints of sayings and quotes including a selection from JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings..

This letter was painted for the new granddaughter of a friend of mine. They have an apple tree in the garden which every year is covered with blossom and then of course, apples.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
Initial letter 'P' gilded and burnished in fine 24c gold leaf, handpainted with apple blossom and two golden yellow apples on high quality watercolor paper, framed within an ivory mount.
Apple Blossom signifies love; joyousness; knowledge and like the orange, as fertility, is used for brides. For the Celts the apple tree was magical and, together with the Greeks, they also associated its blossoms and fruit with marriage and fertility. To the Chinese, apple blossom signifies peace and beauty.
Finished size of letter is approx 38 x 40mm on watercolour paper of outer size 120 x 120mm or 4 and 3/4", within a double mount.
