Full description
These lovely coasters were made in my studio in Bristol, and are part of my 'Hearty Range'. They would make a perfect keepsake as a wedding or anniversary gift, and would look lovely on bedside cabinets, or on the coffee table.
They are made using clay cut-outs of hearts of 2 sizes, these are then laid in a circle outline. I then smooth the underside of each coaster using more clay, to create this unique and lovely looking design. The coasters are then fired to 980'C.
The main glaze is a stoneware glaze called 'marcasite', I cover each coaster in this glaze and then 'wash back' the tops, leaving the natural white-ish colour of the clay showing. Finally I hand paint three hearts in a glossy glaze. The coasters were then fired again, this time to 1220'C.
Size- the coaster is 9cm across
The back has been covered in black felt to protect any delicate surfaces
As this is a personalised item, and ceramics take a while to make, because of drying times, and because each item has to be fired twice, orders will take 28 days to be made and posted.
When you check out please let me know on the message to seller what you wish to be written on the 3 hearts, you can choose names or dates, I have two sizes of font, the one showed in the picture is the largest. Longer words will be written in the smaller font. Please also choose what colour you would like from the options shown in the photo. The options are: Red, Dark Blue, Pink, Turquoise, Light Blue, Green, or Yellow
