For many years I have kept little books of used envelopes for jotting down a telephone message or note. I would sew them together into a little book and keep them by the phone. A friend though it was a great idea and asked if I could make her one for her handbag. I added a pretty cover and bead bookmark tag and she loved it. Ever since I’ve had friends and family ask me to make these Cottage Chic Rustic Notebooks.

Full description
A small handmade Notebook, created in a rustic Cottage Chic Style. This Notebook has been created from recycled items such as used envelopes, pieces of card, reclaimed beads and buttons.
I have covered the Notebook with leftover piece of blue and green patterned cotton fabric from my material box. I have decorated the front of the Notebook cover with sequins and beads which are hand sewn to the material before covering. There are two black buttons hand sewn with purple cotton thread along with two strands of white cotton string which are attached to the back cover. These are used to fasten the Notebook together when not in use.
On the inside front and back covers are two material pockets made from a piece of light purple and white checked material hand sewn along the top with green embroidery thread. The front cover pocket contains two blue painted little tags while the back cover pocket contains a number of slips of reclaimed paper. I have used lengths of purple ribbon to finish off the inside cover.
The leaves of the Notebook are made from reclaimed envelopes which have been cut with rough edge to add to the rustic cottage feel of the Book. The Notebook containse ten leave’s making 20 pages to add notes/drawing to or attached embellishments or stick small items to.
There is a page marker/book mark made from white cotton string and a series of different sized and coloured beads.
