I made the original piece as part of a beading competition - we had to make a Chatelaine and one of the objects I included was a tape measure. The beading grew very naturally, and although it's a lot more extravagant than much of my other work, I was so happy with it I decided to make a tutorial.

PLEASE NOTE THIS LISTING IS FOR A TUTORIAL, NOT THE FINISHED ITEM
An intermediate level beadweaving tutorial to make an elegant surround for a plastic retractable tape measure. Uses tubular peyote and circular netting, and a mix of seed beads, drops, pearls or glass druks, bicones and a central rivoli.
The tutorial includes materials listings, colour options, sources for materials (UK), and full written instructions with clear diagrams of every step. The PDF pattern will be sent to you via e-mail within 24 hours of payment clearing (usually much sooner, assuming it's not the middle of the night!).
Materials required:
14mm Round Rivoli
Size 15 Seed Beads
Size 11 Seed Beads in 2 colours
3mm Fire Polished Beads
4mm Round Beads
2.8mm Drop Beads
3mm Bicone Crystals
Tape Measure, 50mm diameter, 10mm thick.
Beadweaving needles, thread of your choice, scissors.
