We are privileged to live adjacent to a lake, and our first thought when designing a garden was to include a large pond close to our house, with the hope of encouraging wildlife to visit. The experiment worked and soon the local kingfisher was a regular visitor, perching on the taller water plants before diving in pursuit of our goldfish.

Etching of the kingfisher that sits on my crocosmia stems to watch the goldfish in the pond.
Three-colour multiple-plate etching, with plates wiped in turquoise, orange and raw umber hues to recreate the feeling of a delicate watercolour.
Limited edition etching, printed on BFK Rives acid-free paper. Image area 12x18 cm, paper size 30x20cm approx.
