Elizabeth Moriarty prints

Lively hand-made linocut prints on paper, fabric and wood

Living on a smallholding on the edge of ancient water meadows, my prints are inspired by the livestock and wildlife all around.

I make my prints in a small studio at home, cutting lino at home and printing my blocks without a press. I make small sketches, to keep my sketches simple, so that the results are very personal, lively prints.

In my spare time, I go to the studio at Oxford Printmakers to make etchings, which are a rather more complex in technique and mood.

Buying from me

Elizabeth is an artist and illustrator based in Wolvercote, near Oxford. She is a member of the long-established Oxford Printmakers, and has had solo exhibitions at a number of galleries in her native Wales. She uses etching techniques in her print work, and is particularly interested in the way she can use light and shade to create atmosphere.

Much of her work is drawn from studies of the wildlife and livestock that surround her smallholding adjoining Port Meadow.
