FIRST CLASS NOTEBOOK
A genuine Moleskine plain page cahier
featuring upcycled used gold-colour 1st Class Machin postage stamps
customised with wedding date postmark of April 27th 2014

Simply packaged in a clear cellophane packet your handy pocket-sized Moleskine cahier has been stampified into something utterly unique. No-one else will ever own a notebook quite like this one! (You will receive the notebook shown.)

The front cover is entirely covered with used postage stamps (except for a narrow border around the edge). The collage has been thinly coated with matt sealant for durability. The back cover is left blank, except for a hand-stamped TangleMail Prioritaire postmark, as seen in pic 2.

The Moleskine cahier is a high quality ruled journal with sturdy kraft cardstock cover, and secure stitched binding. Inside are 64 lined pages (last 16 sheets detachable) with a handy pocket inside the back cover. The notebook measures 9 x 14 cm.

There's something truly fascinating about the way a simple, infinitely repeated design (such as the Machin postage stamp) can also provide infinite variety in the tiny differences acquired during exposure to the world's postal systems. I was fascinated by the patchwork effect of the stamps when laid out side by side and the First Class Notebook was born...

The postage stamps have all been individually soaked from their original envelopes, dried, then glued into place with an acid-free, xylene-free adhesive. They still bear fragments of postmarks and other cancellation marks as a testament to their former active service with the Royal Mail.
