The return of the migrating Swifts is always a welcomed sight in the British Spring time. This would look lovely filled with Spring flowers and foliage gathered from the hedgerows.

Swooping Swifts above delicate branches make this unique vase. Created using the cyanotype technique on mulberry paper then applied to glass. It is then varnished.
The old photographic process of cyanotype was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1841. A light sensitive solution is applied to paper, objects or negatives layered on then exposed to sunlight, the solution is then rinsed off in water and the paper dried, fixing the image in glorious blue tones.
Height 13cm, Base diameter 5.5cm, Top diameter 6.8cm approx.
