My inspiration was the awe inspiring Heart Book, made around 1550, from the collection of the National Library of Denmark and Copenhagen University ... oh ... and the loan of a super fretsaw.

Full description
This book has been made using traditional methods, all papers are: cut, folded then sewn by hand using some of my hand dyed linen thread. Once bound, I have cut out the heart shape using a fretsaw.
The book is covered with white vintage embroidered cotton (once part of a much loved table cloth) and can be secured with a vintage suspender attached to the cover with a vintage laundry button.
The book contains 120 pages: 10 signatures, or 60 folios (folded pages), of assorted recycled or scavenged papers.
