A Bit of Earth is a multi-part project I have compiled for Earth Day, 2014, and also in homage to one of my all-time favourite books, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (1911). The Secret Garden features lots of beautiful imagery of gardens and growth, a life-affirming storyline and earth-friendly sentiments that are the perfect complement to Earth Day celebrations.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Full description
A Bit of Earth Mini Zine is a hand-folded 'traditional' 8-page mini zine printed on white recycled kraft paper (shiny on one side, rough/ridged on the reverse). It can be read from cover to cover like any other zine, featuring quotations from 'The Secret Garden', vintage illustrations & how-to projects; but it is also designed to be cut apart and physically upcycled into the DIY projects featured, so it is MORE than just another zine to be flipped through once or twice then forgotten in a box, taking up space.
CONTENTS
As shown in pic 1, this zine provides instructions for:
- AN EX LIBRIS BOOKPLATE LABEL, featuring a black & white garden illustration from a vintage storybook, plus self-adhesive backing - simply cut out, peel off backing & stick in your favourite book
- 8 ROBIN STICKERS/envelope seals, featuring a European robin in front of a wall of ivy from a GB postage stamp issued in 1995. Each sticker has a different postmark (scanned from the stamps in my own collection), a faux postage stamp border (a nod to the origin of the design), plus self-adhesive backing so that you can easily cut out, peel & stick
- A SEED PACKET, featuring a wonderfully retro cover illustration from a 1976 edition of The Secret Garden (again from my own collection), ready to cut, fold & glue into use. There is even space for you to label the packet with type of seeds & date.
