A Bit of Earth is a multi-part project I have compiled for Earth Day, 2014, and also in homage to one of my all-time favourite books, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (1911). The Secret Garden features lots of beautiful imagery of gardens and growth, a life-affirming storyline and earth-friendly sentiments that are the perfect complement to Earth Day celebrations.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Full description
This looseleaf 'zine' has 8 pages printed on white recycled kraft paper (shiny on one side, rough/ridged on the reverse), plus a kraft cardstock cover page. It can be read from cover to end like any other zine, featuring quotations from 'The Secret Garden' & vintage illustrations; but it is also designed to be cut apart & upcycled into your own Secret Garden seed packets, and includes a template so that you can make additional seed packets out of any scrap paper you have to hand.
Pages measure approx. 14.8 x 10.5cm (A6), and seed packets - once cut out & glued - measure approx. 5.3 x 8.5cm. Simple instructions are provided to construct seed packets - just add scissors & glue - then seeds! Each packet includes a space on the flap to label with seed type & date.
The front of each packet features a cover or inner illustration from one of my own vintage editions of The Secret Garden from various period, and including artwork by artists as diverse as Shirley Hughes, E.H.Shepard and Charles Robinson. The reverse of ecah packet features an appropriate quotation from the original 1911 text of The Secret Garden.
