When looking to repurpose these aircraft recognition cards I wanted to make something where both sides of the card would still be in view and appreciated. Adding the bookbinding cloth to the edges makes them more durable for avid readers.

This bookmark is made from an original vintage aircraft recognition card as used by the miltary observer corps to identify different aircraft.
Bookbinding cloth is used along the edges so it is easily grasped and taken in and out of the book without the card edges catching or becoming dogeared. The cloth on this bookmark is dark blue.
The card shows a silhouette image on the front and on the reverse has the name of the aircraft and information such as wing span dimensions. This is the SHACKLETON MR Mk.2 (4-Griffon 57).
The bookmark comes with an envelope so you can give this as a gift.
