Full description
Inspired by the art and culture of Ancient Rome, I have created this lovely necklace. It is not meant to be a copy of any actual Roman Jewellery piece, but my interpretation of Roman design.
This lovely necklace features super carnelian gems and hessonite garnet gems, teamed with eye catching sterling silver vermeil beads and magnetic clasp.
The body of the necklace is a strand of gorgeous carnelian button gemstones. These range in colour from rich orange through to yellow and creamy tones. The gems are translucent so light passes through them. Following from these are corrugated sterling silver vermeil beads. These super beads are a real focal point in the design. From these beads I have created three strands of graduated gems. Two of the strands feature hessonite garnets in warm orange brown shades. These have been strung into blocks of colour and shade - please see pictures. They have been hand cut, so are not perfectly round, adding to the authentic look of the design. One strand features Carnelian tubes and deep orange hessonite garnet gems.
The vermeil magnetic clasp is stamped 925 for sterling silver. All the stones have been hand knotted which adds fluidity of movement when worn. The necklace measures 21 inches in length approx.
