Unique 25cm diameter drum lampshade. The lampshade has been made using a lovely pale blue mottled effect cotton fabric that I dyed using the cyanotype sun print technique. I have then added 3 cream coloured calico squares, each featuring a hand screen printed brown deer image, The image was inspired by pictures of ancient cave paintings. Each deer has slight variations within the print colour which I feel adds to the hand made quality of the design. Each calico square has been finished with large scale hand stitching around the edge and the lampshade has been finished around the top and bottom edge with a lovely 1.5cm wide grey and white edging ribbon.

This lampshade works as a table or bedside lamp shade and would look fantastic in a child's bedroom.

The fabric has been neatly hand rolled on to a white flame retardant backing and the lampshade ring suits a standard UK 25mm light fitting but can also be easily converted to suit a larger (European style) 40mm light fitting by squeezing out the attached plastic convertor plug (very easy to do!).

I was inspired by some primitive cave painting images I found in a book and used the image to screen print. I then used some fabric I had dyed using the cyanotype method and added the hand stitching and love the hand crafted feel this lampshade has.
