Full description
The decorative top of this pincushion has been worked from strip patchwork stitched from vintage ivory linens and a selection of lace, ribbon and vintage buttons from my collection. It has been further embellished by the addition of hand embroidery - stitched in white cotton.
Strips of ivory table linens have been strip patchworked using fabric cut from a recylced shirt as a foundation. The patchwork has been decorated with cream lace and ribbon. Hand embroidery in embroidery in cotton has been used to decorate one of the side panels. Small cross stitches in the same cotton provide extra decoration.
The back of the pincushion is a cream fabric. The back and front panels are blanket stitched together, using white crochet cotton. The picot crochet edging is then worked into the blanket stitch loops. The pincushion is gently stuffed with polyester filling.
