The beads/chips supplied are graded as A-B grade "semi precious" gemstones in their "natural form", having been factory cleaned, heat treated, drilled, *faceted and lightly polished. *Where applicable
A - B grade semi precious gemstones are readily available and cheaper to purchase compared to AAA/AAA+ grade gemstones due to the fact that they have not been graded to a "carat weight" necessary for wide scale commercial stone setting, which would then go on to be used alongside precious metals such as gold & platinum to create various jewellery pieces.
Many people assume that gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires & rubies are super expensive to buy, which isnt the case...the many semi precious chips & stones available are mostly offcuts & surplus pieces of the larger (carat graded stone) shaped & cut into beads or ornaments and offered as "semi precious" and not "precious" gemstones as found and sold in jewellery peices in mainstream/independent jewellery shops/outlets.

Amethyst is the official birthstone for February, it is also the birth stone for the zodiac sign of Pisces. Amethyst is suggested as a gem to give on the 4th, 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and the most valued member of the quartz family. It must be purple to be classed as amethyst, but it can display a range of shades including deep purple, light lilac, lavender and mauve.
Amethyst can occur as crystals that are six sided on either end. It also forms as drusy which are crystalline crusts covering the host rock. It is found inside geodes and in alluvial deposits all around the world and occurs in both crystalline or massive forms. When manganese is present in clear quartz amethyst is produced, while the amount of iron contained in the specimen accounts for the depth of purple.
Folklore and legend states that amethyst has been used to guard against drunkenness insomnia, headaches and other pain.
