Full description

The first in a new (irregular) series called 'Make Your Own', this zine is all about French Knitting - if you remember French knitting fondly from your childhood, this zine will prompt you to try it out all over again - and the beauty of it is, this zine will show you how to do it at no cost at all. Both eco-friendly, and economical!

This zine has 12 A6 pages (plus covers). It is printed on recycled papers, and has a simple, hand-stitched binding.

Inside, you will find (almost) everything you might ever want to know about French knitting - - history, trivia, how to make a French knitting loom/spool by re-purposing everyday household stuff (what can you use, now that wooden cotton reels are far from common?), a basic how to French knit, the discoveries I made from my French knitting experiments, a funky project to make your own wine glass charms, a list of resources if you want to explore further, and more ideas. There are also a couple of interactive sections to fill in with your own ideas!

I will also include an essential beginner's kit, with push pins, a paperclip, and something random to transform into a loom (this may be a door stop, a sellotape reel, or something else entirely - it's a surprise!).
