This mini zine is a continuation of my fascination with & enthusiasm for faux postage - possibly erring toward the slightly evangelical... Coinciding with the launch of my new mail art project, Friends & Faux, I wanted to create something which would encourage others to get creative & discover the joys of artistamps for themselves.

MAIL CRAFT MINI 1: DIY ARTISTAMPS
Simply packaged in a plain, self-seal cellophane packet & measuring just 7.5 x 10.5cm (approx.) this 14 page maxi-mini-zine is packed with everything you need to know for your first forays into the world of faux postage!
- The cover design of this issue features mini sheets of my Dandelion Smile TangleStamp printed on dandelion yellow lokta paper (paper made from an eco-friendly, self-renewing shrub). The back cover can be cut up to use the individual artistamps for your own mail art or decorative correspondence.
- The centre pages are printed on self-adhesive label paper for you to add your own designs, cut out, then peel & stick your own faux postage creations.
- Inside the front cover is the first page of the zine, a list of useful resources for making & inspiring your own artistamp creation.
- The rest of the zine is 8 pages long (excluding cover & centre page insert), printed on recycled paper, and hand-bound into the cover with a simple stitch binding. The zine includes check lists of things to consider when making your own artistamps, plus a number of practical suggestions for (& including my personal experiences of) perforating, adding stickability (inc. lick & stick glue recipe), and cancellation marks. It is illustrated throughout with images of artistamps from established mail artists including Anna Banana & Donald Evans, artistamps received in my recent personal correspondence, and my own TangleStamps.
