Item details

One of two butterflies (the other being the Small White) that claim the title "Cabbage White". They also like cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, swede and turnips. Beautiful but the bane of allotment holders!

I've used a vintage frame and mounting for this picture as I think it gives a softer more attractive look. This means the frame will show signs of use and wear, for example there are some screw holes in the back of the frame.. The frame size is approximately 11" x 9" (28cm x 23cm) and the aperture 8.5" x 6.5" (22cm x 16cm). All materials used are artist quality and acid free.

I’ve done my best to capture colours accurately. However, please note, that colours will be affected by your computer resolution and the actual item colours may differ from those you see on the screen.

My nemesis. It seems I have planted Savoy Cabbages this year purely for the furtherance of the Large White. The caterpillars have turned the leaves into beautiful lacework. It's worth it to see them dancing the tango in pairs above the raised bed.
