Full description
This stained glass Dragonfly panel is a simple design inspired by the beautiful dragonflies which frequent our ponds during the summer months. Richly coloured, it glows beautifully in the sun. It is totally unique and will make an interesting gift.
This one is made to order, so please allow about ten days to make.
For this panel I have used best quality glass of different textures and effects. For the dragonfly, I have used lavender coloured art glass for the body, together with textured transparent for its wings and a couple of mulberry glass nuggets for its eyes. The background is made up of emerald green and cobalt blue. The panel takes on a life of its own when light shines through. This is real stained glass, not painted on.
Dragonfly is created using the traditional Tiffany technique and the solder is finished off with a black patina. The exterior is encased with a lead frame to give it extra strength, and finally, it is all polished up with carnauba wax to give everlasting shine.
Approx 19 cm (7.5 in) in diameter, it comes ready to hang with two soldered rings and a pretty ribbon.
