The wonderful work of Jean Power - she was one of the first designers and teachers I discovered when I began beadweaving and has been a huge influence on me. I've made smaller versions of this piece for myself, but never had the patience for the full blown giant collar.
Earlier this year I decided I simply had to do it - in the depths of winter the bright colours were an obvious choice and I'm thrilled with the result. Jean very kindly allows others to sell pieces based on her designs, for which I'm very grateful - however if this isn't picked up soon I'll probably give into temptation and delist so I can keep it for myself.........

Full description
Statement necklace beadwoven in 3D peyote and herringbone stitch using Miyuki Delicas. This necklace is based on 'Collar for a Rangoli Girl' by the wonderful Jean Power, with new colours and patient execution by me.
This is one of the biggest pieces I've ever made, and took me over 6 months to complete. Each tiny bead is hand stitched using peyote stitch with others to form a distorted square, and then five squares are joined to make each of the fat stars. There are 11 stars in total, ranging from 2.5cm to 7cm in size. The stars are joined using sterling silver jump rings, and the piece is completed with a hand beaded hollow pentagon clasp and toggle. The finished piece measures 53cm when clasped, a kind of mid length necklace.
I can remake this piece (or a pendant based on a single star) in your custom colours. Please message me to enquire, but bear in mind that a full necklace will take a while (pendants are quicker!!).
Given the value of this piece, and the frightening amount of time it took to make, it will be sent Royal Mail recorded delivery in a gift box (with all my usual packaging on top!!).
