Since childhood days I have been fascinated by elephants, particularly the bejewelled creatures seen in colourful Asian ceremonies.

Full description
The Elephant on this little wallhanging (cut from an purple-red pre-felt) has been wet-felted onto a Merino / Cheviot Wool background. The mountain background is formed from pale purple Merino wools, and the water and sky from silver-blue and sunny yellow Merino wools, all gently wet-felted in place with a fine cobweb of fine white Merino wool. The edges have been folded back during the felting process, but have not been trimmed, therefore keeping a more rustic appearance. The picture has been lightly defined with embroidery silk and embellished with a small scattering of glass seed and bugle beads. Due to the nature of this hanging, it is not suitable for mounting under glass.
The Wallhanging measures 22cm x 18cm.
The reverse has been finished with a name/date label and a small D-ring for hanging.
This item is decorative: please keep out of the reach of small children due to small parts.
