Full description

....The silver sixpence represents wealth and financial security. A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies. Many sources say this tradition began in the Victorian era...this little proverb may also date back to a Scottish custom of a groom putting a silver coin under his foot for good luck. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be in the left shoe. These are genuine British SILVER sixpences. This sixpence comes attached to a hand made elegant card, measuring approximately 7cm x 21cm . The back of the card gives the history of the sixpence and - how the bride wears the coin in her left shoe and the significance of the coin in the Grooms shoe!

You will receive one silver sixpence which has been cleaned and polished attached to the card.

This is a gorgeous card to present to a groom before his wedding day. The sixpence can be removed to be carried by the groom on his big day and replaced and kept as a keepsake afterwards. Packed in a cello bag with backing board for a safe journey to you!

Please take a look at the other listings in my shop - where you will find more sixpence gifts.

Thank you so much for looking!
