These organic linen coin purses are embellished with individually hand painted butterflies – no two are quite the same.
I have used specialist colour-fast fabric paints and the design has then been over-stitched with free-motion machine embroidery. Some feature simple white cotton stitching, while on others I have applied a light colour wash to tone in with the butterfly. The painting and stitching combination produces a beautiful and unusual surface.
For each purse I have chosen a complementary cotton lining and coloured bobble clasp. They are interlined with a very fine felt-weight material to enhance structure and shape.
At their widest points (excluding clasp) these purses measure 11cm x 11cm.
