Whether it’s your first, or you’ve been blessed with them before
There’s nothing quite like grandchildren to leave you wanting more
At a time when you’ve done your bit, and life’s just taking off
They come along and change your ways, you cannot get enough
You’ll cherish your first cuddle as you say “Hello…”
“…We’re your new grandparents, you’ll never want for more”
As those tiny fingers grip, you’ll savour the sensation
The circle of life is such a magical creation
You’ll watch their first footsteps, as you did your own child
Only now for some reason, you don’t mind them running wild
Whatever that child wants, it is sure to get
For being the sweetest little person that you have ever met
To spoil them is of course a grandparent’s prerogative
Why should you not show it when you’ve so much love to give?
And if the little nippers should do something wrong? ....
