Full description
Another in my range of Trivial Travels Cats, inspired by the local meanderings of our beloved pet moggies in the day. This little guy is made from a primitive linen, which I have textured with lines of striped machine stitches. The appliqued scene is a small white cottage, grey puffs of smoke coming from the chimney, with green and meadow hills in the foreground. A tree bending in the wind, give the feel of a rather blustery day and small birds flutter in the sky. I love applique and really enjoy making up scenes. With this particular range of cats, I wanted the picture to look as though it was reflected in the cat - as though it's what the cat sees. This tells the story of a cat visiting its neighbour, where I'm sure it gets a warm welcome and a saucer of milk! Ears are made of aged faux leatherette; eye patch from recycled felt (made from old plastic bottles) which I have distressed with inks; odd vintage button eyes, hand embroidered face detail; small green bell. Weighted with dried rice; stands about 17cm high. Comes with Trivial Travels label.
