This is a very pretty stoneware bowl which I threw on the wheel. Inside, the glaze is a rustic white with a blue pattern which I created by stippling blue glaze through some lace. The smooth glaze on the outside is mid blue in colour with hues of green and flecks of dark blue plus the occasional burnt orange. Another piece of lace was stretched over the outside in a semi-circle down from the rim through which I applied white glaze before firing the bowl to 1260 degrees Centigrade. Take a look at the pictures to see the subtle result.
Height: 9.5cm - 4 inches
Diameter at rim: 14cm - 6 inches
Food-safe and dishwasher-proof.
The bowl will arrive inside a sturdy box nestling in plenty of bubble-wrap. If it is to be a present, I will happily gift-wrap and send it direct complete with a little note on your behalf - all at no extra charge. Just email me the details.
If you are thinking of ordering multiple items, please feel free to contact me for a specific postage cost calculation as I'm keen to keep add-on charges to a minimum.
NB: Also available: a matching plate and matching mugs.
I love ceramics ... their feel, their texture, the sense of warmth and comfort that fills me every time I touch them ... I love the forms they can be shaped into ... the way they gently warm when used to hold food ....... and I absolutely adore my coffee out of one of my own handmade mugs ... a cake from a little ceramic plate ... mulled wine from my own goblets ... I'm getting carried away ............
