I participated in (well, hosted, actually) a project to write a mini zine to celebrate Earth Day in 2010. Having recently discovered the ecological friend that is lokta paper (handmade from renewable, easily sustained vegetation), my old favourite The Secret Garden seemed the perfect companion for the seeded version of the paper. I love little extra touches, so a packet of poppy seeds completed the little package to perfection.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett has always been one of my favourite books, and was the source of inspiration for this mini-zine which I wrote in honour of Earth Day 2010 (April 22nd).
It includes quotations from the original novel, a spot the difference 'contest' (do you know how different the American and European robin are?), gardening tips from two of The Secret Garden's main characters (Mary Lennox & Dickon Sowerby), and a review of The Secret Garden, plus its 'sequels'. All packed into one concise little mini-zine!
A Bit of Earth is printed on beautiful handmade lokta paper, embedded with hemp seeds, and includes a separate glassine packet of poppy seeds for you to plant and grow. The pages & seed packet label are decorated with hand-doodled floral corners. Your copy of A Bit of Earth will be individually packaged in a cellophane packet (apologies - updated photo including seed packet to follow).
N.B. 1: Lokta paper is made from the lokta shrub by harvesting its bark. It is not cut down, but instead regrows, making it a wonderfully sustainable, renewable, natural source of paper.
