Full description

When I look at this stone I think of the shores of the Red Sea in Egypt, where the brilliant colours of a days reef diving give way to the sun bleached sandy remains of the previous coral colonies that form the beaches.

A casual and simple every day pendant. This polished fossil coral has a lovely flowery pattern and neutral sandy colouring, which tones well with the natural triple leather cord. The chunky bail and hook fastener are solid sterling silver.

Necklace length is 16.5", the cabochon measures 1.75" x 1.5".

This item will be sent to you gorgeously gift boxed.

No living corals were harmed in the making of Desert Daydream. This beautiful fossil is a natural stone formed from ancient corals, and not taken from an endangered coral reef of today's modern seas. Corals have been growing in the oceans around the world for almost 500 million years thriving in warm shallow marine waters and over time being buried in sediments as the land surface moved and sea levels rose and fell. Temperature and pressure from compaction during burial, resulted in those deposits, in time, becoming rock and part of the present day geological record.
