I find the way quilt blocks fit togther to form new patterns facinating and Northern Lights jumped out at me from a quilting book and I had to have a go...

Full description
This quilt has been a long time in the making! The central section is pieced using 24 'Northern Lights' quilt blocks arranged to give the radiating diamond design. A border of 'Flying Geese' triangles surrounds the centre with a 'Pinwheel' block in each corner. I have used different machine quilt designs for the centre and two borders.
The quilt measures 132cm x 175cm (52 inches x 69 inches) and could be used as a sofa throw; or across the end of a double bed as well as a cosy quilt to snuggle under whilst reading or watching tv.
The quilt top, wadding and backing are all pre-washed 100% cotton fabrics and the quilt can be machine washed on a gentle warm cycle.
The quilt is my own design and made in my pet-free, smoke-free home.
